School Advocate

Children that are impacted by homicide and violence, experience trauma. This trauma can be manifested by negative behaviors in school or at home. The school advocate helps to steer families in the right direction to receive help for their child and to support them during a difficult time.

Court Accompaniment

Going to court or a hearing could be intimidating and a little frightening. EMIR provides accompaniment during activities related to the victimization. EMIR offers in-person support to families for criminal court proceedings. Preparation for victim impact statements are offered.

Victims Compensation Assistance Program (VCAP)

EMIR assists families to receive support from Victims Compensation Assistance Program. This support is to ease the financial burden a murder and violent crimes.
